Project Summary
Solving Kids’ Cancer recognized an unmet need in high-risk neuroblastoma. They
initiated this study by asking researchers to submit new ideas to address challenges in treating
unresectable neuroblastoma. This clinical trial sought to use new technology for childhood
cancer called “High Intensity Focused Ultrasound-guided by Magnetic Resonance(MR-
HIFU).” This next-generation experimental therapy destroys tumor tissue with targeted rapid
temperature elevation while leaving adjacent tissue and organs completely unaffected.
